About Mavalanga
The area surrounding Mavalanga Lodge is renowned for its natural diversity and concentration of the Big Five and is widely regarded as one of the best game viewing areas in the Kruger National Park.
Attracted by abundant grazing and the cool waters of the Sabi River, for centuries this region has been frequented by vast herds of Elephant. With its history deeply rooted in Elephant activity, it was fitting to name the lodge after Mavalanga, a prime young Elephant bull on the Kruger National Park’s ‘top ten emerging tuskers’ list.
Mavalanga Lodge is conveniently located a mere 6km from the Paul Kruger Gate & only 26km from the new and impressive Skukuza Airport which offers daily flights from Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. Alternatively, the lodge can be reached by means of a scenic 5-hour drive from Johannesburg.
